Poems about Aphrodite

My Aphrodite

Out of Greek myth, she
Glowed at the party and proved,
Stories I had told.

Modern Aphrodite (Prose)

She was men's temptation; every girl desired to be her. They've all wanted a part of her existence. She was to be admired and to be envied. She is the Goddess that lures everyone around her. She is the Goddess of love and beauty.

Is it tiring to be loved and undeniably beautiful? Is it difficult to be the epitome of perfection? Never. She's enjoying the attention—she's loving the admiration. All girls have been wanting to be her—their husbands have only wanted her. When she walks pass villages, everyone's visions are attached to her perfection. Every girl of every town have had their heads held low and their expectations of themselves lower for the rest of their lives for they knew she existed.

One time, she's decided to go for a walk on the lake by the nearest village. She saw women, doing what women like them usually do—service their husbands to not leave them behind by washing their clothes and giving their everything. They were happy, laughing at something she has no intentions to know about. They seemed pretty happy—must be that easy if you don't have all that pressure on you, because they don't feel obliged to be perfect all the time; to not be ugly when you laugh too hard or distort your face when you smile too wide. They are very unladylike. That must have been the reason they can only allure one man.

Then they saw her, staring from the distance. All their distorted, happy faces turned sad...or perhaps, mad. They gave her a look she could not seem to understand. She only knows of one emotion that she could get from certain ladies—and it is extreme enviousness. But this time around, it's different. It isn't envy, it's something else she has never experienced before. It's the kind of look she has never encountered.

She doesn't understand. Why are they looking at her? Why look at her that way? She's Aphrodite, the Goddess. Can't you see? Don't you know who she is?

Then she heard one of them say, “Look, it's her. ”

And the other went, “Oh, right. ”

But the words of the other lady struck her like one of Zeus' lightning bolts... “I pity her. Nobody wants her truly; nobody wants her fully; nobody wants to appreciate her when she becomes ugly. Nobody will love her at the end of the day because she's not really worth loving. She's just an accessory. I pity her so much. ”

"Lies! Everyone wants me! You're all envious for you want to be me! I am not going to let your stupid words ruin me! I am a Goddess! And I'm not someone to feel pity for! " She thought. "Those are all lies! " She repeatedly reminded herself.

What's the matter, Goddess? Your eyes aren't that full of confidence today. Your voice doesn't sound so proud of yourself. Your face have grown wrinkly, and your skin seemed worn out. Your hair is growing old, and your teeth are grinding as your fists are clenched tightly. You have broken the twentieth mirror today, and your hands are bleeding.

"...but I am...the...epitome of..." her breath was running out, and she's still trying to catch some.

The wind blew heavily that swept dead the candle's light. The smoke of the blown out candle turned into a hooded figure, he picked a piece of the broken mirror and handed it to her, then he sang a lullaby, “Sleep, little soul. Don't feel so damned. Inhale one last breath, and exhale your soul out. ”

She took the mirror's piece and placed it near her neck. The wind blew as hard as ever for the last time for her, so she wouldn't hear her gushing blood, and it whispered to her, “Perfection. ”

The girl's body feels like that of a goddess when he touches her thighs. he says that when he kisses her she tastes like love and something he can't quite put his finger on. it isn't until she pulls him closer that he can. he realizes it's longing that he tastes.

Who knew aphrodite longed for anything? for anyone?

The girl is soft her cheeks coloured like redwood, her hair dark and wild, her eyes brown. she's warmer than usual, but her hands are still cold. when he asks to kiss her, she doesn't want to close her eyes, she's afraid that she's too high up. mount olympus doesn't care for mortals, but she doesn't want to forget this one.

Yes. aphrodite longs all of the time and as his laughter waterfalls down her spine, she doesn't remember anything but his brightness, that he is what makes her beauty.

Goddess of love met her match. a mortal boy that feels like the god of autumn causes the leaves inside of her chest to fall and change colour.

She paints her love in shades of red. her hands on his body are pink-rose at the palms. this goddess of beauty has never seen any of her potential. perhaps it was wasted until he looked at her with disbelief, because she's never felt worth that gaze, but gods does she want it.

He looks at her and he just wants to occupy the same space forever.

*she looks at him and holds all the love in the universe in her hands.

Apollo Aphrodite

Age Old Invocation
Of the Philosophers Stone
Morning Lady...
That's Right... Mornin'
Dawns Past
Night Already Fallen and Dissolved
An Addiction to Falling
So True
Like the Night You Are
Throwing Yourself off the High Dive
Again and Again,
Backwards Now,
Just for Fun
Astronaut Tossed From the Third Dimension
Oh Yeah... Backwards Now
Makes It Easier
To Dream
Rockets Lift Off Always A Favorite
Where Else would you take a Girl on a Date
Come on PINK PurrL
I can't change Lady
I Was A Born Black Robe with A White Fuselage
Shiny Silvery Starlight Black
Robes Made For Holding Galaxies
Moonbeam Dark
A Fullness Made For Soft Caresses
You sure would Look pretty
Against the Twinkles In my Heaven

The Opposite of Aphrodite

Why did Aphrodite take away
The man I truly love?
She planted false accusations
To make him see only
The bad that were surrounding me.

She planted me in places that
Were utterly cold and untrue;
Only to make my love see me—
A vindictive being with a soul so cruel.

She took his heart with her hand
That went straight through and
Banished all the good that
I knew was true.

She made him believe all the
Lies and deceit and made him
Walk the Earth never wanting me,
Never needing me, she; Aphrodite
The Goddess of Love, made the
Man I love never to love me.

~Like Echoes of April Through Aphrodite's Smile ♥

. Like echoes of April through Aphrodite's smilesoftly draped over sleepy mountains, waking with dew laden apple blossomsin a bright white field. The sun opened one eye and quicklyflooded the valley with light. The caves of ice began to melt soon to becomea clear rushing stream. The mist, slowly liftingand thesilence has just passed away. . . . . . . . . . For a moment in time the sun and the moonhesitated against the pale blue morning sky. Within the reach of a naked eye, Jupiter loomed. Fish filled the blossoming stream and all swamin the same direction. Time could have been standing still andthere would not have been anybody to complain. The scent of fresh apple blossoms whispered upon the air. I could hear panda playing bamboo flutes. Then I could hear people hustling and bustling. The sound of stainless steel objects seemed toslam into the concrete with a scattering, shocking force. Then I heardmy doctor speak firmly, "Clear. "

82 lines to Aphrodite - a devotion

O Love - spirit of the heart
Doth gift of gorgeous grace impart
Adorned with wings burnished bright
On which all souls swoon, take flight
Goddess true in mind embed
A fulsome flame of luscious red
Her clarion call to care implores
Irresistible to adore

Harking on divine at harp
Seducing souls out of the dark
Showers with sparkles the famished soul
Disconnect from the one and all
Reunites with divinity
With her wandering entreaty
To Aphrodite I forever be
Filled with charity and amity

Dare not fool her beauty forfend
Towards brighter day enchanted I wend
I'm ferried to her glowing cloud
Enamour of its divine shroud
By prophets, Saints, lovers adored
Immortalised in metaphors
Which render her beauty in devotional mantras
Prithee, Aphrodite, tell me of thy tantras
Thou bewitch, entice and snare
In you the light of love appear

Burnished bright in aura fair
Dandy goddess thou art debonair
In your peace I want to share
Ferry me away up there
Thy marbles and monuments beauty do not decay
Carving, sculpting beauty in to the day,
Hearts brine dies and goes away
When we walk wild frontiers on loves enchanted way
Stature which compels to kiss
Seduces devotees of bliss

Be my babe forever inspiring
For to thine beauty I am forever aspiring
From tyrants kingdom interdicted
But he for not knowing truth of thine heart is blighted
Beauty suffice to inspire psalms
Psalms giving like monks give alms
Take me babe in thy palms
I would leisure thee with drams
Be forever borne aloft
Testament to divine craft

In to tortured mind you drift
Bearing light, a divine shaft
That kindles flame of love in mind
That stokes love for kindred kind
Thou art temptress in to golden grove
A love on which the spirit rove
I would adorn thee in garlands
Jewels and a diadem

You are the ace of hearts
Striking mine like magic dart
Atop an aura, divine set pearl
Invites me to peer, enchanting girl
Eyes fluttering and beckoning
Invites me to peer magic, enchanting
A vivid array of colour
In her enchanting aura
Swept up in her hurricane
That rolls and waves across the plane

From one reality to another
Released form spirits tether
On shores of heaven we frolic play
Soothing quelling fear dismay
Touching rainbows dancing on the moon
With her always an epic rune
I sway enamoured of her tune
For her I'd traverse fifty dunes
And forego many a mirage
And torturous illusion, image

To finally fathom her resplendent truth
A kind of beauty rare forsooth
