Im trying to let you down easy But your rolling to hard Your Eyes made out of sand from a hour glass Gazing into the ceiling of stars Hoping to just catch a glimpse of who you truly are Not your name Or your ancestors dancing flames Or the construct and deconstruct of your DNA But to unravel your purpose The reason for urges of the currents jolting in your brain The motive for the moving left instead of right Why your demons masqurade during the day But parade at the peak of night Why do you hide? Why do you fight? Why do you lay under a canopy of what you wish to be? You have sight but no vision so what can you really see? Why do you keep secrets from yourself and no one else? You dream to be rich but malnourish your health You pray to a god but don't know who You find a cup of ricin enticing knowing the flavor that it brews Why you do the things that you do? Answers you need them The fiends you feed them Regrets you bleed them Your words you bleep them Apologies you keep them Your flaws I see them Clearer then prehistoric waters Tainted with blood like the nile after the slaughters You thought your punishment was elusive But I caught her Raised her as my daughter Became both her mother her sister her brother and her father Then released her into your world So you can see the product of your abuse And wear her like a neckless to choke on it like a noose

Caught Between Frost and the Mire of Mediocrity
Caught between the frost And the mire of mediocrity We're just passengers on failure's final ferry
We're courageous, yet hamstrung By demons and daydreams I've learned the cold makes these thin bones ache
And all this foreboding has drained The little strength that I've managed To collect from season to broken season
I tucked the past in an overcoat Before I stepped out on the porch Hobbling despite the crutches that I carry
Am I a witness to winter? Or a simpleton of madness? I loved you more than every "God damn" muttered under icy breath
But I'm still struggling Fighting against the weight of it
Simply... caught
Caught between the frost And the mire of mediocrity
Did you catch me staring? Trying to figure out what your chiseled body looks like Underneath those clothes Your blue jeans and polo shirts turn me on. Did you catch me staring? I was merely trying to see your heart Through your carefully constructed facade Later, it became evident, however. Did you catch me staring? Oh, how embarrassing. I hope these walls don't speak a word of it. Of my unwavering love for you. Did you catch me staring? I promise, I really did try so hard to look away But that only drew me to you more. Did you catch me staring? You are the reason I cannot focus on anything else *And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Caught
Catching attention like a fish Only to throw it back in again, stung By ragged scales and worry The splash spells out the words Into my arm, saying I should have spoken up sooner
Guess i'm just no good at fishing Or too good, but too picky I missed the thin black fishing lines Pulling and cutting into my skin As i tied them tight around myself Til they returned, and i wish you were here To tear them off again, to melt them Under warm sun, to rock me Like a lazy canoe, to reel me in Like the hook and bait that are no longer needed Because you caught me

Encased in the Feeling, Caught in the Skein
Feelings of love enter A heart filled with despair. Words bounce within my center Darkness now turning quite fair.
My days now filled with splendor, I keep them not just to myself. To love you is of valor, Pulled down old feelings from shelfs.
Blow dust off a rusted heart, With you my love had begun. I believe we'd never part, We, a loving web, have spun.
