Close the door behind you
I walked out of the river The place where I was born Yet my roots remain detached, unbind Looked up to the nigh's sky Watched the stars burn and thought of their end.
I ran into the forest The place where I'm confound My swing torn from branches, sawed off Looked up to the morn's sky Observed the sun and feared it's distance nearing.
Milk bottle naked, I followed my destined path The alien world full of new tech and standards Must keep up appearances, have to fit in I have to fit in I HAVE to fit in. I must keep up appearances I need a phone, I need a profile I need those grades I need to get into university I need a job, a career!
Breathe.
If you read this, please. Read this! Do something, change. You must change.
I run to the river My heaven, oh, home The roots tied my feet to it's bed, trapped Looked up to the outside Felt the rush drag me down.
There are many things trembling, disparate, conscious of their Spaces. things appear colossal when near. rife as tongued word, An approximation – a misuse of time;
Dealing more for sight than feeling, things snap in a very short distance. Fire burning glowers pale. lilt of a sentence in speech.
A luminescence is nearness. its impact, relative – brands it a different Form, recalls it, a clear warning as message.
What is yearned for is distant. mostly what's ignored is as obvious As want. you, both at the same time, undulating.

It's time we close the pool.
I look outside At the green murky water That fills My in-ground pool And i remember the day I tried to clean it But i was too small And weak And the heat was too much So i quit halfway through
And now leaves drift Slowly to their watery graves Among moles, spiders, and frogs Who foolishly yearned To take a refreshing dip From which they never returned
The reflection of the blue October sky and Sparse leaves Is beautiful and heart breaking And i half expect Corpses to Float to the surface And beckon me below With their waterlogged Finger tips And broken tooth smiles
I picture myself, Toes on the edge of the diving board, Ready to take the leap
I'll swan dive in And sink to the bottom And broken bodies Will hold me As i learn to say goodbye
There are places On my skin that Have been carved out Or in I can't remember Getting all of them So I am sure to Remind these forgotten marks They will always Mean something to me Even if I wear a few More proudly Than the Rest
