Darkness rises

Darkness rises
When we least expect it
Darkness rises
It can feel like a cloak
Heavy and cold
Choking us
Smothering
Choking out the light
It can feel like
The light has gone out for good
You can start to wonder if you will ever
Feel that light again
If you will ever feel that peace
It can be easy
To lose faith
To wonder if God even cares
If he has forsaken you
You must endure
The darkness never lasts forever
Joy and light
Are waiting in the morning

darkness,  rises.

Winter Darkness

In the winter darknesss,
Whatever can you see?
I hear that you have turned
Your face away from me

Our time it was not easy
I didn't know what to do
All your love had turned to ice
And the old lies couldn't pull us through

But it seems so cold and cruel
For you to shut me out this way
Surely there were other words
We both had left to say

So forget that you have known me
While this cold wind blows
And snow begins to cover
Those dreams of long ago

In the winter darkness
Whatever can you see?
I hear that you have turned
Your face away from me

darkness,  winter.

When Darkness Prevails

No! It's my cup of poison
How can I live?
Without its bitter burn

Yes, yes – I know
The ambrosia of life
Is excellent too –

But...
My poison beckons
Its pull so strong
I really do want that ambrosia

But...
Darkness' allure
So back off! It's the bitter burn I crave

Some days you can't win for trying
When darkness prevails

Accept The Darkness

You made your bed
You wouldn't listen to me
You didn't ask the mirror either
You answered your own question
You're the fairest one of all
And I wasn't the one who could reach you
So pull the covers up tight over your head
Accept the darkness

accept,  darkness.

The Darkness

Are you afraid of the dark?
Afraid of what lies within it?

Lying under the covers is a frightened child,
Chilled to the bone.
Her eyes are wide, and her ears seem to be bleeding.
Oh god, she feels like screaming.
She shakes and shivers,
Pouts and sighs,
And inside,
She is screaming and crying,
Soaking her pillow-
While I bite into her once more

I laugh and scream,
Enjoying my bitter dream,
Tell me,
Where are your angels now?

Heavy Darkness

She is alone, drowning in her heavy darkness.
She chokes on the blackness of the void
And feels it sharper than the blade spilling blood on her skin
His hands are ice around her neck
Her eyes cry out for help
She is alone, drowning in her heavy darkness.

Never did she feel this way before
This vulnerability struck fear in her
A heart shredded by this monster
This man she couldn't escape
He watches her like prey
She is alone, drowning in her heavy darkness

She is sick but they won't see
Hiding behind a smile
She feels him watch her every move
She is consumed by pain
And yet, she loves him
She is alone, drowning in her heavy darkness

darkness,  heavy.

Darkness

I've wondered into a dark place.
Never have I been inflicted with
So much pain, sorrow, and distrust.
The darkness I've been shrouded in,
Is immense, so immense you could see it in my eyes.
Grief stricken,
Heart broken,
Betrayal,
Disloyalty,
That's what I am left with because of you.
I've fallen to my breaking point and beyond.
I fell as if I'm at a place of no return.
I've shed a thousand tears.
A thousand tears to many then a thousand tears more.
I feel like I don't belong
Maybe hell is where I belong
My demons my kin
That's where I go.

Vanquishing the Darkness

Scintillating shades of brilliance absorb into my pores
Opulently bathing me in a radiant light
Flowing through my senses, appealing to my soul
An incandescent energy of pure delight

Tranquil beads of silken dew form upon my skin
Expressing adoration for the light
Pleasing drops of exultation, tears of joy divine
Sending darkness into the swiftest flight

A renewal of my spirit, eagerly blooming intensity
Persuasion of the sweetest kind
Is found in this release, the delightful peace I keep
Bathing in the brilliant light I find

An incandescent energy is flowing from my senses
Sending darkness fleeing from my soul
Tranquil beads of light are beaming from my spirit
Sweetly smiling, as darkness loses hold
