It Is Time To Forge Ahead

It is time to forge ahead
Be the person who strives
Never settle for second best
Always be willing to thrive
Situations will come about
But you have to be smart
Always be aware
Right from the very start

ahead,  forge,  time.

If i marred your body
With words and rusty knives,
And i peeled your skin with
The burn of every tear you
Ever caused me;
Would you label the remnants
As scars from our love,
Or tattoos you regret?

At the Forge

Hammer hard
Fire bright.
Pounding metal
With all my might.

Orange gleaming ore
Glowing craft.
Shaped by hand
Quenched by draught.

Hell's own heat
Makes air singe.
Burning embers
On fiery fringe.

Muscles ache
To the bone.
Making old
Bellows moan.

Shaped with pride
Of hardened steel.
Hone the blade
To razor feel.

Heated, beaten, burned, abused
In this forge this all happens.
With such powerful trials,
The weak is eliminated leaving the strong.
In this forge pain is replaced by strength,
Sorrow by solace, and wounds with scars.
For as all that brings us these, a better
Form grows within.
In this forge, the constant, rhythmic beating
Keeps as a reminder that so long as it burns,
We grow stronger.

I could forge lies with my tongue
But you wouldn't fall for none of them
You could see the gaps in my stories
And the truth in my eyes
So believe me when I say
Things can only become better with time

If I could beg you not to go,
Would you stay all night and day?
We could do things like we used to,
But we both know it won't be the same.
Still here we are, holding on.
I don't want you to end who you are when you have more than you think
A little escape, you're not temporarily gone.

I can't forge love.

I am Hephaestus,
Alone in my home
Of infidelity. Pestering,
My godess, my queen,
With pleas, that I may reach
And touch her beauty,
That my ears may hear her sing.
Hoping I could snake my way
Around her olive tree,
With the courage of Athene.
She's the amor in the air,
Armored by her disgusted stare.
And I'm ensnared. Tangled,
In her hair. Amongst dead roses,
And broken mirrors, I repair.
Mending what was never there.
Convincing myself I'm not impaired.

I am Hephaestus,
In this forge.
I'm scorched,
By my heart's
Endless scourge.

Forge Ahead

You get
To concede
That caution is best
Take care to proceed
And protect your interests
And tread
Steady as you go
When exploring new land
But those in the know
Already understand
You should
Your concerns
Hang-ups, inhibitions
Throw out and spurn
All terms and conditions
It's said
There's no merit
Not having a go
The meek don't inherit
And likewise the slow
Don't see red
While others move
In on the take
Waiting might just prove
A costly mistake
Forge ahead
If it feels right
Don't sit on the shelf
Or expect an invite
Just invite yourself
And spread
Out your jazz hands
And wave them about
Let caution be damned
And be in no doubt
You're long

ahead,  forge.
