We Ran, We Lived

We wandered with no direction,
No boundaries in the grass land of dreams and cloudy skies,
No end in sight.

Running from the city's chaos
Towards home in each other's youthful freedom,
We let the wind carry us while our arms were wide open,
Welcoming the horizon and all adventure beyond it.

The only worry in our spinning, restless thoughts
Was removing the grass that stuck to the sun kissed fabric of what we wore
Whenever we sat on the ground to watch the world go by,
Because all was well, it was alright
In that wonder of land
Our Wonderland.

And although these moments, in all of its glory,
Are left to photographs and hidden journals
The still feeling thrives, wild and alive,
As the stars shine.

Wherever Trevor lived

(20 minute poetry)

Ears quite blue
Nose runny too
Ice cold in London today
But
Tonight it begins
And everyone wins
The weeks end is coming
Our way.

Trevor wore a hoodie
But he would do
Wouldn't he?

These elements aren't gentlemen
They're behaving so badly
Sadly
I just have to suffer
As I snuffle and sneeze
Through the chill morning breeze

But it's Friday
The sun has to shine
The work's almost over
Two days to call mine
And I'll make them my own.

Not forgetting those sleeping in
Betting shop doorways
Where
The odds always seem to be fixed.

Couldn't Have Lived It Any Other Way

It was years ago let the truth ago
When I first existed as a seed
Then i was formed into a baby yet just maybe
I would see things in a sought after vision
A nurse held me in her arms
Saying this child would grow to reach the masses
Soon after I would grow to become an altar boy what a joy
Then i was sixteen flipping burgers down at Mickey D's
Thinking all of life was just a mystery
Then I met my first girl putting my life in such a twirl
In time I would shine as the prom king all the girls would scream
Then the leader of my play still thrills me until this day
1989 wrote my first poem, "Remembrance of a loved one"
Cozy in the ride of a brand new Mustang
Then ran into a street thing took my breath away
Although those many years would pass
Still I had every good reason to grasp
What true love really meant
Yet it was only lust in disguise
Was listening to the devils ill faded lies
Does all of this logic come at any big enough surprise
Took up acting in college learning with lots of knowledge
Then it leads up to today
Written over 2, 000 poems & 3 short stories
Never was my name up there in lights but one day i just might
Be remembered for my poetry that is the only way I could face reality
What was I will to achieve
Sweet victory as I take my next breath
Feelings that I touched many a heart along my stay
Every day willing to bow the head to pray
Yet I couldn't have lived it any other way

If I Lived in The Pyramids

Thousands of years ago, when I was never on existence's mind,
Ancient Egyptians looked down upon the world,
Up upon the pyramids with only their glory in sight,
History racing to match their eminence word by word.

When angels of death knocked with finality on their doors,
They held their crowns intact, postures of gold never wavering,
To them, they were ascended to the divine floor,
With every last glass of wine they ever graced with their catering.

Magnificent cloaks on beds of eternal slumber,
Decaying hands mingling with decades of royalty's worth,
Thrones caged in tombs adorned with ruby and amber,
They carried their glorious empires even to death.

And if I were to be a Cleopatra, a Nefertiti, or a Hatshepsut,
I'd demand to carve every word I'd ever written, on the walls of my afterlife,
For finery and jewelry proved to be only fool's gold,
But what once lied in my - now lifeless -skull shall keep me alive.

Poem of a wonderful place where many books was read.

The
Mas sive
Hundred year
Old tree shaded all
That came to sit and rest
It had five hundred limbs and
Leaves to many to count, at the top
Lived a

Girl her

Full of

Short Lived

I'm unhappy as fuck.
I'm an escapist of reality.
I'll gladly waste the next several hours, days, weeks escaping my existence, living outside myself. Removing myself from the pressures of unhappiness.
If only for a string of short lived moments.

What does one do with the awareness of ones subconscious drive. How does one begin to take the steering wheel.

Do I have what it takes to be more than short lived.
