The lonely boat

The lonely boat, out at sea

Seen by all, known by few

Wondering how this could be

Even though deep down it knew

Floating around all day and night
Going near shore but not close enough

It looks content but's really not alright

Always missing good company, life is tough

But it keeps going, this lonely boat

Far out in the ocean or close to the sand

Continuing for now this solo journey afloat
Knowing one day it'll find the place to land

boat,  lonely.

Lost Lonely Loser

Never could small talk
Clumsy awkward and disheveled
Fitted in by fitting out

This is no perfect other for me I'm convinced
I'm to old
Broke
Tired
Weird and can't carry a thought to fruition

All of my life I have been looking
Hoping to find a lover
She must have not been born

Scary thought dying without next of kin
Then again there will be no sorry and pain
No grieving
Which is good

lonely,  loser,  lost.

A-lonely

Never have I felt so acutely
A l o n e.
How can such an empty, empty feeling swallow every little bit of me?

As I stare at the ceiling, darkness blurs and dips into the spaces of my vision.
I can barely make out the corners of where each wall connects to each other.

Inevitably, I wander how something so seemingly vast and big can come to an end; closure.

A limit.

I feel so very small.

How about me?

I feel very lost indeed.

Make Me Lonely

With your hands woven
Into my spine
You led me into
The dark
Where the icy wind
Slipped my shirt off
Leaving me exposed to you,
Wishing I could walk away
But the trail
Of breadcrumbs we left
Has long since disappeared,
And now
That I am lost
Beside you
I only wish
To have you closer,
But once daylight
Touches our skin
And we are graced
With artificial smiles,
I will
Shrug away
From you
Again.

Lonely

I'm so lonely tonight
And my thoughts are taking over
I'm so lonely

-That Lonely Moon-

Sleep has grown tired
Of my demands.
I ask more of it
On shortened nights.
Seduced by warmth.
Betrayed by sudden
Consciousness.
I stir, I sit
I speculate.
Perhaps the moon,
She nudges me in my sleep;
To wake and keep her company.

lonely,  moon.

Lonely Days and Lonely Nights

As I sleep my days away
For the passion of the night

Standing on the corner at midnight
Trying to get my courage up

In the streets again
Of the lonely nights

With losers and hustlers
Were nothing is right

One old lady
Looked sweet that night

With an ankle bracelet
That said, don't be lonely tonight

As she winked at me
And drifted into the night

As my life has always been
Lonely days and lonely nights

days,  lonely,  nights.

A Lonely Sport 1967.

He came today. Visited her
At the hospital. She was
In a mood, but he brightened
The day, bringing her cigarettes
And chocolates. He talked of
God and the Summer of Love.

She was part of that love that
Summer, but no God for her,
Least not where she lay in bed,
Lights out, massaging herself
To a sensual joy in the dark.

He showed her a jazz LP he'd
Bought. Boring shit, she
Thought, but didn't say. Her
Parents didn't come, but he
Came today. She lay there
Her passion spent. She ate
A chocolate he'd brought.

She imagined she'd had sex
With him; it was a lonely sport.

lonely,  sport.
