Poems about looked

I have looked at ....

I have looked at sunsets as long as they lasted
The reds and the golds and the pinks of them
The play of light on the edges of clouds
The changing shadows over the land.
I have watched the sea steadily rolling in wave after wave
Breaking against the rocks with the energy of distant storms
Or gently lapping at softer shores.
I have gazed up at the brilliance
Of a black night of stars million upon million
No moon to dim their richness.
I have seen the hidden blues and greens in a slow river of ice.
I have known forests and mountains.

I have known you also and you no less
Are part of the universe. I can admire
The changing sky in the colour of your eyes
The moving sea in the curve of your neck
The wonder of an opening rosebud
In the crook of your elbow.

When i looked out my window this new day.

The world hit me in the eyes
As i saw the broken branches
That had fallen to the floor
Winter suns warm glow
Burned my eyes
I have loved
Will I ever again
Who will ever know.

day,  looked,  window.

Love I Looked For Thee Inside

I looked in
Every corner
Through every tide
Far and wide but
Where to look
For love again
O love i
Looked for thee inside

inside,  looked,  love,  thee.

I Looked At The Mirror

I looked at the mirror.
And a wonderful idiot
Is looking back at me.
How about you,
What do you see?

looked,  mirror.

I Forgot How To Swim When You Looked At Me

I learned to swim when
I was four, but still I drowned
In your eyes today.

forgot,  looked,  swim.

I looked all around and asked: is this all there is?
What in the world do I have to give?
I looked around and I saw the beauties of the trees
And then I heard the humming of the bees.

I looked around and I saw the rivers and the streams
Then I thought- life is not what it seems.
We have four legged animals running all around
Every conceivable creature I know can be found.

We have birds of flight, with their wings of might
My oh my! What a glorious sight.
Creatures that crawl above and below the ground
Some are quiet, while others make some sounds.

Then I looked at the ocean and it was
A beautiful bluish green
A sight which had to be seen.
Then I looked up to the skies
And watched the clouds floating by.
The sun a bright yellowish white
What a beautiful sight.

I thought again: what do I have to give?
And a thought flashed through my mind
The LORD made all this beauty that I see
But the most beautiful thing he made was you and me.
He gave us a shell which we call a body
And we walk straight and tall.

Then he gave us a soul, a brain, and a heart.
And this was the start.
He told us that we could use all three
It depends on you and me.
With this he added one more thing “ choice”.

A Brain to decide which way to go
A Soul with every feeling known to man
This was all of GODS plan.
Then he gave us the Heart to store all the feelings
That the soul did hold.

What do I have to give?
The answer is plain to see
I give my love to GOD
And then humanity.

As I looked Out

As I looked out
Into the great beyond,
I, the voyager, trapped in doldrums,

Found the soul that had slipped away from me.
My quest ended, I discarded
The gravity-encased form my mother gave me,
Trading it for the light,
The soul had always longed to be clothed in.

And my soul danced,
On the dihcotomic sea of what is,
And what will be,
Waltzing across the waves of dreams,
As light is want to do,
Whenever it meets water.

I Looked About My Windowsill

I looked about my windowsill,
And there a lovely whippoorwill,
Stood and sang a lovely tune,
About my birthday coming June,

Out in the middle of a real nowhere,
Where the light is gently falling,
Dark come soon as night comes in,
As birds so sweetly calling,

Mosquitoes bite in summer time,
This place can be quite hot,
But staying in would be a crime,
While getting out is not,

For now the lovely whippoorwill,
Who sings the lonesome way,
Amidst the frozen earthly loam,
And branches in decay,

I sit alone to hear that song,
The whippoorwill, my heart,
Take me back to yesterday,
I rise again to start,

Just like a cancer born in June,
The whippoorwill he loves the Moon
He calls her from a lovely perch,
A tall and sturdy silver birch,

I hope to hear him once come Spring
On his flight his love he bring,
So many songs he knows to sing,
On whippoorwill and tiny wing,
A sweet and soulful little thing,

I close my eyes as I applaud,
His lovely voice entrances me,
& in his voice I'm truly awed,
Staring not a choice I see,

Endangered in this place I love,
The whippoorwill, a dearest bird,

Please do your part to save the Earth,
I hope his lovely voice is heard.
