Poets, Watchers in the Tower (frontwards backwards poem)

Poets are the watchers in the tower
Scribbling, watching, waiting, hour after hour

They watch the depravity of man
They see their sinful plans
They watch the plant breath
They mourn as it bleeds
They watch the changing of the seasons
Connect the dots, make it all rhyme with reason
They watch the winged things fly
Shot down, plummet from the sky
They watch the good and the bad play out
From the paper the poets scream out and shout

They write about beauty and about what makes one cower
For the have endless combinations of words, endless power
They can drain you of hope, or make you flower
They are the watchers in the tower

To: Poets. Thank you.

Sometimes I read other peoples poetry and I realize that it's those words I've been secretly harboring in my heart; and someone was finally able to explain them to me.

Poets from the past

In days of old the poets told there poems with in a book
For all the world to see so they could take a look
They would tell of beauty and tigers burning bright
And of lots of beasties roaming through the night
They would tell of daffodils sat upon a hill
Hosting close together sitting very still
There poems they are rememered and with us till this day
The poets from the past will never go away
They will stay forever till the end of time
The poets from the past who gave us there rhyme.

To hello poetry poets I put my nickel down.

I'm a bit... overwhelmed
And I had no way of knowing
I put my nickel down
And the PEERS started flowing

Suddenly
It seemed to me... that I had
Hit the motherlode

Every heart sent and every poem read
Is worth more than gold to me
As the honesty sparkles like diamonds
With every word you've said

So if you would indulge me -my ramblings
While I WANT to stay awake this night
To answer all
Alas I've hit the wall

My brain and my eyelids are having
One heck of a fight

One thing I WILL not do
For love, money or fame
Is rush through the precious words
That you've given life to
Your babies

So in closing --my eyes closing--
Becoming one with the night
I want to say... that I have been welcomed
As a new kid(old man)
Onto this site(i love it here) onto your block

Much like when I was a youngster
And the cool looking dude said
"Hey kid You wanna play? "

"ME? SURE! THANKS. )
And so I... put my nickel down. HELLO.
THANK YOU ELIOT YORK.

Young poets

You carry words
In your belly-
Pregnant meaning

I read in awe
Raw emotion
Direct communication...

Avoid spilling
Into oblivion

Your beauty
Lights the world
Courage inspiration

Haiku (pseudo poets)

Schooled in crass vanity,
Pointed scales of pufferfish,
Blowing up themselves.

Ballad of the Poets

Poets** were put on this earth to suffer because without it where would our thoughts come we thrive under hard times when life leaves you breathing nothing but sulfur but when in serenity we find we finally unwind and calm our troubled minds until the rug is pulled from under our feet down back to the deep we venture writing of sorrow surviving for the serenity to return to our world again
