Shadow and soul

Is my shadow my soul?
Or is my soul my shadow?
Both come with me.
Why would they be separate?
Can my soul live also in my shadow?
Can my shadow hide my soul?
Shadow in the sun, indicates fun.
Shadows in the dark always give rise to fright.
Is my shadow the duality of my soul?
My inner struggle with bad and good?

A shadow is where direct light cannot reach due to
Obstruction by an object.
This I know.
Is the obstruction my soul?
The soul, in many religious, philosophical, psychological,
And mythological traditions, is the incorporeal and,
The immortal essence of a person or living thing.
So what is the shadow?
The dark part of our souls?
Or, as many would have it a scientific result.
Soul = object of spirituality
Shadow= result of science

The ancient Greeks believed air, as opposed to solid earth, to be incorporeal.
Ancient Persians believed fire to be incorporeal in that every soul was said to be produced from it.
We humans are mostly water.
We humans live on earth.
Each of the four elements manifests in us.
Our shadows and souls must therefore,
Relate to human activity on the principle of "as above, so below"
My shadow and soul are me

shadow,  soul.

I am a shadow.
Just a projection,
With no true being.
We are the dark side,
Out of the public eye,
But always there.

And oh
I would give anything
To just once,
And just for a moment,
Be real again.

Shadow dancer

Solitary child

Time moved
Silently on
Leaving those lonely days
In its distant wake

Many times
You would glance back
Through the portal
Of tear filled eyes

At the child you once were
Dancing with your shadow
Embracing the hurt
As you waltzed alone

Even now
You still hold out
An outstretched hand

As if you could reach
Through time
Tenderly caress that child
Pour molten love upon her

Yet you can only watch
Even as your shadow
Watches with you

Faithful companion
Your constant vigil
Shadow dancing
Dancing still

dancer,  shadow.

Under the shadow !

Under the shadow
Of your orange-grove,
Me and you grew,
Our love too, to prove
We are one;
A nude body
A mild mind;
Among those
Thorns and flowers
Hills and Valleys,
Rivers and oceans
Streets and deserts;
We sow the good seeds
We show the ideal deeds
Of making true love;
With its remaining debris,
Though, I am no more;
Yesterday night
Between your breasts,
I placed my gravestone!

True colour in the shadow

Do not trust anything I am telling you
You are not talking to the real me
My true colour is hiding in the shadow

The Projected Shadow ( a beginning?)

Roaming the depths,
The city's bowels,
A maze of catacombs,
And sewer pipes.

A ray of sunlight pierces
My monochromatic depths,
A lone beam, reflected through a storm drain,
Projecting a beautiful shadow.

Intrigued, I look into the light,
Blinded, not by the brightness,
But by the beauty standing within,
Is she an angel, a fairy, a dream.

Red hair dances at her shoulders,
The breeze a choreographer,
Bronzed skin glows, as her shoulders
Are revealed by her white tank top.

I find myself staring into a pair,
Of deep blue eyes, I begin to drown within.
Suddenly I realize, that I am being seen by her,
No longer hidden in my dungeon existence.

projected,  shadow.

What was meant by the shadow of night,
In the early man's eyes what was meant by its darkness,
Impending doom and ominous grace,
Reveled and revealing,
Misunderstood through all time as something evil,

The great horns protrude through the whimsy,
Siphoning portions of animal instinct,
Fear the greatest export

Where is the fear of the blinding light,
That ignorant light that plagues the houses on the block
From every window flickers the flame
Television sets on sleep mode,
Movies set on the title menu playing over and over
While the sleeping body flails aimless in animated suspension,
Insomniacs accomplishing something trivial by reaching the next checkpoint,
Even the light of the candle burning as the neo-bohemian reads,

All looking out the window at the blaring buffoons ransacking the night,
Making love to the stars and howling at the moon,
Insanity and blindly causing the world's collapse,
Laughing at the expense.

night,  shadow.

Shadow's ghost

Her key
Still unlock's
My door, but
Our words
Are broken, yet
I remember the
Last word
She spoke,
And so i have
A drink,
Drowning the
Memories, to
Ease the

ghost,  shadow.
