Poems about sorrow

The Sorrow of Days

Time is teasing along with lush earth so pleasing,
The minutes of our youth are spent in toiled days
And sands are blowing the weld of our sold means,
Foundations of dust, the cries unheard, of the aged.

And then, as dream, you came from the starry skies
Blue and small as the ocean dot, forever fixed—
Reigning over the frozen, revolving moon that lies,
Dimly wakes in your fabled orbit, my fated ellipse.

Now, time tables and splits, renders me to eaves
Undone, my squandered youth was but a sad play
And I am clocked with wind, the geld of my dreams,
Had shiftless hands been more solid than my days.

days,  sorrow.

As I start to sip my tea
I see the screen flash
In front of me
Children killed
Women raped
And left dead
Here and there
It seems everywhere
The blue seas
Are turning red
This unnamed terror
Out to maim and slaughter
Amidst a growing hate choir
The world has slowly
Turned into an abattoir!

Weaved Sorrow

There he sat
On Hospital steps
Pure agony coursed through him
Hands to head: praying
Fingers interlocked
A weave of sorrow
Praying to his God
A God who would not answer
Why should He?

sorrow,  weaved.

Blues, blacks and purples
Soft sobs and falling rain
The taste of salt
Is it someone's fault?
The soft scent of fresh water-droplets
Beautiful, silent dying roses
The heart is in painful agony

What's life without its awe and sorrow?

I seek a soul as deep as mine
Who tastes the rain
And screams with thunder

I seek a soul deep as mine
Who views joy and pain
With equal wonder

I seek a soul as deep as mine
Who's kind heart
Is often torn asunder

awe,  life,  sorrow.

Obsessed with Sorrow

Im obsessed with sorrow
Why cant I let things go?
I dont even know why
I follow the undertow

Made misery my maiden
But she has left me jaded
Seeking out a light within
The darkness I created

Why is all I value
Sold off to misfortune?
What am I to tell you
When the words I speak seem foreign

Seen so much
But feel so little
Out of touch
Clouded and riddled

obsessed,  sorrow.

"Sorrow and Fairness" a sonnet

Twenty-six times the bells will chime today
Tragedy lives where apathy is sought
Gazing outside I see no children play
Tears which we shed in a glass are now caught

The tears are now saved and we will have drink
Twenty-six times we have pain to swallow
Tragedy's cup compels fairness to shrink
And fragmented hearts embrace the sorrow

When the cup runs over we start to drown
On the sadness we invited to come
And jewels we place in tragedy's crown
Provide the reason we will mourn for some

As we choke on sorrow with awareness
Ponder the elusiveness of fairness

Relieving the Sorrow

The drink
To drink?
No drink.

She drinks and is happy, elated;
She doesn't drink, she cries;

She drinks, she lies;
She doesn't drink, she dies;

The drink
To drink?
No drink- do the right thing and believe in tomorrow;
Tomorrow might just relieve the sorrow.

relieving,  sorrow.
