Dreaming of Tomorrow

What is the point
Of these dreams that we have?
Surely they are there to show us
The ugliest and most beautiful things within ourselves
To let us decide which we should dream
Into reality

dreaming,  tomorrow.

Tomorrow

There are scars in places I haven't seen,
There are nights you wish you couldn't dream

There are things which were taken away,
There are losses that will always stay

There are moments you want to die,
There are times you're too tired to cry

There are feelings no one will understand,
There are burdens that don't let you stand

There are people that broke your faith,
There are monsters that keep you encaged

There are nights when you let yourself grieve,
There are days that don't let the nights leave

There are all these unhappy things and sorrow,
But my love, there's also* *tomorrow

I wish I woke up tomorrow

I got up this morning, looked out my window
What I saw made me wish I woke up tomorrow

The sky is heavily overcast
Clouds are billowing past

Thunders are making the ground shake
I think there's going to be an earthquake

Lightning flashes viciously across the sky
Creatures are panicky, this must be why

A whirlwind is funneling stuff up higher and higher
I can see smoke over that roof, looks like a fire

Rain is falling fast on the land in torrents
Someone is helplessly floating away in the current

Ouch, my empty stomach is rumbling away
I need to go feed my hunger without delay.

For Tomorrow We Die

Live a little,
Drink a little,
Eat a little,
Lie a little,
For tomorrow we die...

die,  tomorrow.

Will tomorrow be like today?

In the moment of present day bliss,
We wonder if the next day will still offer wealth,
Hoping that tomorrow can still possess gold.

The journey to good fortune is an unpredictable path,
Like rolling dice in a game of chance.

The future holds no guarantees,
Leaving tomorrow a mystified puzzle.

Forget about the mystery of the unknown,
Instead, move with the currents of the ocean,
Continuing in stride with each flow.

today,  tomorrow.

A THOUGHT OF TOMORROW

A tomorrow with thinking today
Tomorrow in what it will bring
But assurance of one thing
Tomorrow is going to come
I am not certain I will even see tomorrow
But I won't cast a shadow being sorrow
Tomorrow will be a day unseen
Yet the soul must be clean
Tomorrow is a horizon full of anticipation
To some, it might even be a question
Goals will be set
Achievements in the works that will be met
The sunrise opening of eyes to the new day
Praise in words one would say
Expectations the entire way
Yet tomorrow hopping to be yet in the number
The night before I was able to slumber
I would be good to be living among
But every day living is the Lord to look upon
Tomorrow's surprise with another day being wise
An opportunity where one advises
A journey where one travels
A vision where one sees
A tomorrow one thought would never come.

thought,  tomorrow.

The Loss of Today to the Not So Everpresent Tomorrow

The here and now is often lost
In tomorrows hopes and dreams
C'est la vie, that we lead
Though carpe diem is what we need

Is today simply a prelude
Of what may be ahead
Or should we live it to its fullest
Or waste it planning instead

Tomorrow.

Every morning I wake up,
With an aching in my heart.
The bed staling with each passing day,
Each day tougher to start.

The silent dawn then comes alive
As I recall words and laughter that rings so true,
As I hug this pillow tighter
Wishing it was you.

I close my eyes as I rest my head,
Yet all I see is you.
These lips recall fervent memories
Of times that passed too soon.

And as I rise with the first gleam of light
And place my feet upon the floor,
I try to walk away from your departure,
As I pace to wards the door.

The day soon ends,
And as I lay again in this bed,
I know i'll wake up the next morning,
I know it'll be the same ache.
