Walls

There is a hole in my heart
That I can get lost in
Forever--
A labyrinth of loveless lies
Where the walls tear me apart
As I scour through the sin
Of my own endeavors,
But this is no surprise.

I have been here so many times--
Stuck within
The ill infinities of imagination
Left to wallow, all the while
I slowly fester amidst times
Where my own walls were worn thin
From another's mindless interpretation
Of why dreams, like corpses, now pile

Built up, then broke down--
All for nothing
Except to build
My final resting place
Not a sound
Save for hushed gatherings
Of notions waiting to be killed
Behind the walls of a dead man's face.

My walls

These walls are empty
Just like me
Stale and pale
Cold to the touch
These walls are bare
And naked
Stripped
There's bruised
Dented
Decorated with wounds
And scrapped off skin
Bloody from the knuckle marks
Left on them like hickeys
They've been pealed
There insides revealed
It's just as dark and cold in here
These walls are lonely
They've never been touched
Windows covered in paint
No light ever gets in
No picture or frames
Just the occasional
Electric outlet
These wall are empty
Just like me

Four Walls

Within these four walls
Lies a child's hope
Protected from a world
Full of shattered dreams

Within these four walls
Comes the silent cries
Of a broken soul
Wanting the pain to go away

Within these four walls
Whispers of secrets are found
Hidden in plain sight
Never to be heard

Within these four walls
Silence swallows all
Consuming the life
In endless loneliness

Within these four walls
Fears are made true
By infectious nightmares
Creeping in the shadows

Walls

Follow the cracks in the clouds,
Right to my breaking heart,
Wake up,
Fall asleep,
One day I'll wake up & all I'll hear is singing.

Walls

I speak through my heart when I talk to you.
I put all my love into each strong hug and heavenly kiss.
I squeeze your soft hand because I'm afraid you'll let go.
Age is just a number to me but it means everything to you.
I hope love overcomes your doubts.
I try to show you how amazing we will be with each other.
We would have the kind of love where sparks are always flying.
We would have the kind of love that lasts a life time.
A love that can overcome anything.
Everyone sees it.
Why don't you.
Why do you build your walls so my heart can't get in.
Let it out honey I'm here.
Just let your walls fall down.
I will protect you
From the pain.
I love you.

Rebuilding the Walls of Jerusalem

To be rebuilt, to be restored, to re-establish broken walls

Of former gates now rising up, to them that will rejoice

On assignment from the palace

Nehemiah of noble rank

With zest and zealous zeal

A great work to begin, relinquish finding fault

Continue the consigned course, even if by force

A purposeful quest, yet enemies seek to oppress

Chosen people of Jerusalem

Their aim to hinder

To turn our plans to cinders, of ruin again

Aside from jeers and jokes, we evoke the passion inside

From such a purpose as this

For Nehemiah here to rebuild, not to rebel

To hear of enemies plans, such work began

Armed hands of spears and swords

Guarding watchmen day and night, to then distract, a covert act

To call him away, an unprincipled trip, good intentions not

Yet passing times, forward seasons

Gave no reason, for continued up-rise

No scheme or lies, could dissolve desire

Nor cause delay

Gathered rules, with listening intent

Help the people, re-join and restore customs, not law

Promising years, place heathen aside, do not idolise

A Saviour will return

The writings of Malachi

A faithful prophet, of faithful words

Walls

All of your walls
Keep me in the dark
And so block my attempts
To win your heart

I've had escorted tours
To the edge of your life
Bunt never allowed too close
To the feelings you hide

You seem to keep your emotions
Tied, locked, and bound
Afraid to share your soul
For fear of being let down

I have come with hopes
I can find my way inside
That you see who I really am
Let me breathe love into your life
