There are words Tucked away In minds, To incite, Move forward, Shake cores, Turn hoarders To minimalists, Create Lists, Tasks, Set to do, Choose for me, Shift between Different places, Draw different Faces, Passing by on Streets I've got a tweet For each One of you, Wrapped in Treats, A delicious bonbon, Desserts of Verbs, Adjectives, Nouns, And more Words.
Write for someone Who cares enough to read it And have the words etched upon Their hearts, Never fading.
Write for someone Who knows you enough, To know That you are a mixture of a thousand emotions You never show And your poetry is a gateway To your heart.
Write for someone, Who would willingly walk down An abyss with you, Not someone, who walks into it, Unknowingly Overwhelmed by your words' intensity
Write for someone, Who is many different people, For many different people, And still is all of them for you, A side he only shows to you.
Write for someone, Whose love is not a secret, Confessed in a hushed tone, Write for someone who loves you, And is unapologetic about it.
Write for someone, Who sees a part of them Every time your eyes meet, Write for the part Of yourself You see in them.
Write for someone To whom you actually mean something And your words will never go unnoticed, Dissolving in wind The moment your lips set them free.

How Not to Write a Poem.
Mind empty Thoughts not connecting Words not forming sentences Letters floating freely Not even one simple idea to go off of
Everything is messy Too messy to make anything make sense.
Sometimes I swear the words write me. The words bridging the end of my pen, Upon white sheets bound and covered I wrote out of the lines, words are my sin I broke that metal spine and pondered. Who else is writing, whispers in the wind I become outnumbered captive by wonder.
-Ashton Amstutz
~second version below
~The words bridging my mind and pen, To once empty pages held in a spiral spine,
Written- skewed & out of each page line I broke that metal bind yet no page sundered. Who else is inside of me, The words are many, I become outnumbered, eyes captive by wonder.
I tried to write a poem To express how I feel But there is no order of words That could properly illustrate what I so deeply wish to say No rhyme scheme Could make it more meaningful No gracefully placed word That is in just the right spot Could compare your beauty to anything in this world So my deepest fear Is that you will never understand How I feel
This is the island of the desolate The inhabitants battle hardened My sweet kingdom of the night And to here I return to write
Oil drips like tears over my brothers and sisters I know they never want this war to end But yet I have come home to write this letter Seamly the only one here that wants peace
I will apologize for their mistermeaners Will clarify even doctrine for you Should anymore suffer now When you have the ultimate power and won the war
I'm here to help in their plight Lost souls that have lost the fight Grace me that you will see sense As I have returned here to write again
I do not write about the joys of life Or the calm and gentle quiet of nature. There is too much faked joy in the world.
I do not write about love and loss. I dare not tug at the fragile threads That bind old wounds in rememberance.
I do not write about worldly truths And the fallacies that we are often told. I have forgotten them ― outgrown.
I do not write about my thoughts For fear that I cannot find the words to fit And that my mind will soon consume me.
I do not write ― I bleed.

I'm Going To Write Me A Love Story
I'm going to write me a love story And its going to start with you I'm going to write me a love story Because you chased away the blues
Like the sun rising I love waking up next to you I'm going to write me a love story And its going to start with you
Like the midday sun that makes you feel so warm That's the way I feel when you are in my arms I'm going to write me a love story And it's going to start with you
Like the beautiful sunset The last of the day is the best You put my mind at ease and heart at rest I'm going to write me a love story And it's all because of you
I'm going to write me a love story And its going to start with you I'm going to write me a love story Because you chased away the blues
