Sunshine in your lungs

And what if we all sang
(Sang the very song that saves us)
And what if we all brought
(Brought each other to life)
And what if we all laughed
( in light and in darkness)
For we had nothing to fear
(But the wind blowing at our back)
What if we were made to
(Sing like sunshine fills our lungs)
What if you didn't know you
(Felt as free with someone)
What if we were running (farther and farther away)
Until we are all caught up one day.
(With magic and with sun rays)
Making us feel at home
(Bringing life into our bones)

Burnt Lungs

I wanna smoke a lot,
And forget about
Everything that hurts.

I wanna smoke a lot,
So I won't hear
Those hurtful words.

I wanna smoke a lot,
And let you taste
The nicotine on my lips.

I wanna smoke a lot,
Right after we made love
Under the sheets.

Lungs

When everyone around you is breathing smoke it is hard to keep your oxygen for yourself... and soon you are breathing their smoke while they are gasping for what little air you have left.

Locked Up Lungs

I deserve to breathe, I deserve to live,
But their calloused minds have nothing left to give.

"We have every right to fight for you"

Don't I have the right to fight for me too?

What you call a shield, feels like a sword.
What you think is best for me slices at this cord.
A cord now cut between you and I,
A silence that thickens the air inside.

I deserve to breathe, I deserve to live,
But they don't see all I have to give.

I am fighting a war that can't be won,
Time will set me free, on the run.
And all I want is to make them rage,
I scream for the freedom outside the cage.

I cannot breathe, stuck inside this cell,
My heart is breaking inside this shell.
You cut me off, you cut my soul,
You blocked the door to that which makes me whole.

I can't do this.
My locked up lungs have never breathed in bliss.

Lungs are filled with smoke (mini rap)

I train my throat,
To take the smoke
But not to make these lyrics dope
Though I'm here to stay as I hoped
I'll smoke ya spirits and hope you choke

Expanding universe in my cigarette lungs

Cold cement under my feet
Contemplating a deep colorful galaxy
Humming to myself the tune we love
You are not mine
As the breath within my lungs is not mine
I take you in, and then you are gone
We are worlds apart
A century between us as we embrace
The soft night air is our home
Adrift on a sea of doubts
Lovers and friends
And at last friends
The universe expands
And you float away from me

I smoke a cigarette
At 11: 30 p. m
It is cold
Even with your absence
I am alive in a world that is home to you
That is enough

The flowers in my lungs

You make me so unbelievably happy
That flowers have started growing everywhere;
In the vase you left on my windowsill,
In the pillowcase you used last time you slept here,
And in my body, my heart, my lungs.
The air is cleaner, the sky clearer,
I can breathe again.
Every so often, i cut a daisy
From around my throat and put it in my hair.
I use them as a reminder
Of what you mean to me.
The oxygen in my lungs mixing
With the soil and stems and leaves and petals.
I use them to make me feel alive.

Corrupted lungs

She stubs out
Another cigarette
And winces at the nicotine
Spreading to her lungs

But she doesn't mind
Burnt lungs seem to be
The least of her worries
